Master of Music Composition degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Mrs. Monroe studied composition with Dr. Cindy McTee, Dr. Thomas Clark and Dr. Jon Nelson. She also worked in her related field of Computer Music with Dr. Joseph (Butch) Rovan. (thesis.pdf)
Bachelor of Music Composition degree from the Wheaton Conservatory of Music, Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. Mrs. Monroe studied composition with Dr. Howard Whitaker and Dr. Harold Best. She also studied piano performance with Dr. William Phemister and Dr. Daniel Horn. While at Wheaton she was a member of the Women's Chorale, the Concert Choir and the Wind Ensemble.
