We are pleased to announce the birth of Johanna Monroe in March. She is truly an answer to prayer.
Summer 2011
Faith Church Anglican, commissioned Ms. Monroe to write 5 songs for this summer’s vacation Bible school/mission trip: Mission Possible, A Bible Adventure. They include: Anything is Possible, Why Are You So Afraid, God’s Great Plan, Walk on Water?, and Follow Jesus. The adventure starts June 11!
Fall 2010
We are excited to announce that The Breath of Life has been selected for performance at the CFAMC National Conference, October 15-17. The conference will be held at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.
Summer 2010
Work has begun on a piece for flute choir. It is a variation on the hymn tune Jesus Lover of
My Soul (Aberystwyth) by Joseph Parry. This piece is targeted at junior high or high school performers. If your flute choir is interested in giving the premiere, contact Ms. Monroe.
Christmas 2009
A Shepherd’s Prayer will be performed at the Christmas service of Faith Church Anglican in Plano, Texas on December 20th at 10:30a.m.
Winter 2009
A recent visit with Theresa Sauer and Dr. Lynn Job has inspired Ms. Monroe to begin a collection of works for her piano students. This should be an exciting merge of two previously distinct creative pursuits. Once tested in the best workshop available - her own teaching studio - these works will be released to the community to share.

Stacy Maugans performed The Breath of Life on her faculty recital at Valparaiso University on October 4th. Sound files are now available here.

The Breath of Life premiered at the 15th World Saxophone Congress in Bangkok, Thailand by saxophonist Stacy Maugans and violist Kasla Bugaj on July 8, 2009.

William Vollinger has selected Mrs. Monroe to submit a work for the CFAMC listening page. She shared When Morning Dawns and Evening Fades in the May issue.
The Breath of Life has been shipped! Saxophonist Dr. Stacy Maugans and violist Kasla Bugaj will premiere the work at the 15th World Saxophone Congress in Bangkok, Thailand in July.

Dr. Stacy Maugans has commissioned a piece for Alto Sax and Viola for the next World Saxophone Congress to be premiered in Thailand in July 2009.

Spring 2008
The Mystery of Godliness was commissioned by John R. Monroe for the Faith Church choir in Plano, Texas. The premiere was on Sunday, June 1st.
Bassist, Leland Byrd, a student at Southern Methodist University discovered Caravan of Variations on the American Music Center website! He performed the piece during his senior recital on March 26, 2008.

Mrs. Monroe was selected by ASCAP for the 2007 ASCAPlus award.
Spring 2007
Where Morning Dawns and Evening Fades had it’s fourth performance by saxophonist Kelly Love at the University of Houston on Friday, April 27th.
Little Nikko continues it’s tour with the 60x60 Midwest Minutes Mix to St. Louis on January 7th, Kansas City on the 12th, Allendale MI on the 25th. And recently, the tour went to Bloomington, IL on April 5th. Thanks to Rob Voisey for coordinating this project!
Fall 2006
Bassist, Charles Federle, commissioned a piece for solo bass. Caravan of Variations
was premiered at the University of North Texas on November 18th.
Little Nikko was selected for the 60x60 2006 Midwest Minutes Mix. The debut concert of this project was on October 12 at Lewis University, Romeoville, IL at the Electronic Music Midwest Festival.
Mrs. Monroe was selected by ASCAP for the 2006 ASCAPlus award.
Summer 2006
Saxophonist Dr. Stacy Maugans performed Where Morning Dawns and Evening Fades and A Chase with Dr. Kenneth Tse at the 14th World Saxophone Congress in Ljubljana, Slovenia on July 5-9, 2006.
Dr. Maugans was asked to perform the work again to close the Valpariso University Department of Music's opening concert of the academic year on August 22nd.
Winter 2006
Saxophonist Dr. Stacy Maugans commissioned a piece for alto sax and tape. Where Morning Dawns and Evening Fades was premiered at the NASA Biennial Conference at the University of Iowa on February 18, 2006.
Spring 2005
Saxophonists, Dr. Stacy Maugans and Dr. Kenneth Tse, performed A Chase at the NASA Region 3 Conference held at the University of Des Moines, Iowa on April 8-10, 2005.

Mrs. Monroe attended the International Computer Music Conference in Miami, FL for a performance of her work, Almost . . .

A collaborative composition, Bells for Nicolás, was created to honor the life of Nicolás Alejandro Useche. Little Nikko, was included in this work compiled and edited by Dr. Cindy McTee.

Congratulations! Mrs. Monroe received her Master of Music degree in Music Composition from the University of North Texas.
Buckthorn Studios and Buckthorn Music Press invited Debbie to their internship program.
April 2004
World Premiere of Prayers of Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication. Performers included soprano, Angela Irving; bassist, Charles Federle and violinist, Guillermo Maciel.
